Celtic Football Club coming to Australia

Celtic Football Club is happy to announce that they’re bringing their world famous academy to Victoria and South Australia in April 2017. This is all in partnership with The Reagan Milstein Foundation and Banking Solutions for Football Fans.

The 47 time Scottish League Champions and former European Cup Winners will be in Shepparton from April 3-8, before moving onto Ballarat from April 10-15, then Mt. Gambier from April 17-19.

Kevin Milstein, CEO of the Regan Milstein Foundation (RMF) said, “The Reagan Milstein Foundation is thrilled to be able to bring an academy with a huge reputation and fame such as Celtic FC to regional Australia. By bringing in the RMF philosophy of “whole community” we can envisage ongoing benefits to regional areas over time.”

Tony Massie, International Soccer Academy Manager for Celtic FC said, “Victoria and South Australia are renowned for their passion for football, so we are delighted to be able to bring the Celtic Soccer Academy to the two states in 2017. These coaching clinics will give young boys and girls the opportunity to learn the skills of players like Celtic and Socceroos star, Tom Rogic; which are taken from the official Celtic curriculum. It would be great to see aspiring players come to one of the venues where they can learn a little about how players are developed at Celtic, get the opportunity to meet new people and ultimately enjoy the experience. Our coaches are looking forward to making the journey to Australia to work alongside the Reagan Milstein Foundation and Banking Solutions for Football Fans to create new opportunities for players to play the game we all love and leaving them with memories they won’t forget.”

Margot Sweeny, CEO of Banking Solutions for Football Fans said, “The most exciting aspect of this partnership with Celtic and RMF is being able to bring these opportunities to children in country areas that would normally have to travel great distances to major cities. We are delighted to be a part of it.”

The academy days are for boys and girls from 7 to 18 across all abilities and are designed so that the players attending will experience what it is like to be coached in the methods of Celtic Football Club. The coaching delivered will be focused on technical development from the Official Celtic Curriculum, which will include: The famous ‘Celtic Turns’; ball mastery; receiving the ball; 1v1 (Attacking & Defending); passing & moving; awareness; control; finishing and small sided games.

Most of all the players will have fun and learn new skills like those displayed by Socceroos and Celtic star, Tom Rogic. It will be an opportunity for attendees to make new friends in a safe and welcoming environment created by top international coaches from the Celtic Football Academy. With potential opportunities for a player to train with the Celtic FC in Glasgow.
