Cash Passport

Cash Passport is a pre-paid PIN-protected travel money card that enables you to obtain local currency from over 800,000 VISA and PLUS ATM'S around the world. You can buy a card in any amount from $250 to $25,000.

• It’s Convenient - you have access to local currency 24 hours a day. As Cash Passport is pre-paid, there is no danger of overspending. Unused funds can be reclaimed upon returning home (fees may apply).
• It’s Secure - No value is kept on the card (all funds are retained on the host system) so your money can only be accessed with a PIN. Travelex supplies a second card (with a separate PIN), free of charge. In the event that you lose one, simply start using the second card. Lost or stolen cards can be replaced, free of charge and usually within 24 hours.
• It’s Reloadable – In the event that you run short of money while on your holiday, you can have more funds added to your cash passport by using BPAY (1% commission applies), via telephone or internet banking.

Travellers Cheques are one of the most well known options for taking money overseas. All travellers cheques supplied by Travelex are issued by internationally recognised institutions (either MasterCard or Visa), helping to ensure that the cheques will be widely accepted.

If travellers cheques are lost or stolen, a refund is just a phone call away, and takes as little as 30 minutes to organise. Simply report the loss or theft of travellers cheques by telephone to the refund centre indicated on your sales advice.

Foreign Cash

In addition to your Travellers Cheques and/or Cash Passport Card, it is always advisable to carry some local currency with you. This way, you will have cash on hand to cover taxis, tips and other expenses. You can arrange to collect currency from the Credit Union or alternatively, the cash may be couriered to a workplace address.

Telegraphic Transfers

Telegraphic transfers are ideal for sending funds to overseas accounts. Travelex is able to transfer money electronically to most major cities around the world. As a First Option Member you can also receive funds transfers from foreign banks. This needs to be organised via the foreign bank by providing our Swift Code. Drafts (Foreign Currency Cheques)
A Draft is basically a cheque, in a foreign currency, made payable to an individual or organisation. However, when the overseas recipient banks an overseas draft, a long clearance period may apply before the recipient has access to the funds. Also, overseas banks may charge clearance fees.
