Celebrating 55 years of Summerland

This year Summerland Credit Union celebrates 55 years of making a difference to the lives of our customers.

Having been born as the Summerland Norco Co-operative Employees Credit Union back in 1964, we have seen many changes as an organisation and within the industry over the last half a century.

What has continued to be rooted in Summerland’s values is our commitment to our customers by providing expert financial solutions and personal advice they can trust.

“In our fifty fifth year, we are proud of our long-term commitment to helping people achieve their financial goals by providing high levels of service, award winning products and continuing to reinvest funds back into the local community,” said Acting CEO, Sally-Anne Cumine.

“There have been some major shifts in the way technology has transformed the banking industry during Summerland’s history, where we’ve moved from passbooks to passwords, and seen customers rely on wearable and mobile payment technology instead of cash.

“Today, we have almost $750 million in assets and a membership base of over 25,000 people across Australia – we can’t thank enough the unwavering loyalty of our customers and the local community over the last 55 years.”
