Many individuals and businesses were impacted by flooding caused by Cyclone Debbie in late March/ early April this year.
Getting people back to work & businesses trading again is important for not only the businesses themselves, but also for the physical & mental health of their employees and the general community.
To assist businesses who bank with Summerland get back trading again, the credit union offered grants to all business customers who were impacted by the flooding. $40,000 was allocated by the management of Summerland for these grants. Business owners applied and a number of businesses were selected to receive a grant based on their application. Funds have now been distributed to the various businesses, helping them to get back on their feet, trading successfully again.
