It’s all over for another year! The 2017 Jacaranda Festival was brighter and more flamboyant than ever before. We had a wonderful time supporting the participants of our float parade, and our involvement in Jacaranda Thursday, which brought local businesses and the whole community together.
This year, we hosted the inaugural float parade VIP night at our Grafton branch. This gave guests the opportunity to find out more information about the float parade from the Lions Club and enjoy the refreshments that were on offer. It was great to have so much positive feedback about how much they enjoyed the night and found the experience to be useful.
To celebrate the carnival atmosphere of Jacaranda Thursday, our Grafton branch dressed up as Jacaranda blossoms – which led to us being awarded the ‘Best Dressed Window Display’! We also gave members of the Grafton community the chance to win $100 by taking part in our chalk art competition. Congratulations to Logan Lawrence, who was our winner, with a fantastic picture of a Jacaranda tree.
On a bright and beautiful Saturday afternoon, the whole city turned into a sea of purple as locals came out in support of those who took part in the Summerland Credit Union float parade. To add to the occasion, we even had a surprise wedding proposal outside our Grafton branch! If you’re wondering…she said yes!
Until next year, thank you Grafton! We are proud to make a difference and support the local community!
