Timmy has graduated!
This week Timmy Harding graduated from Southern Cross University. The ceremony was held at the Gold Coast Exhibition Centre. Back in 2021, Summerland provided Timmy with a scholarship to deliver practical support towards the completion of a Bachelor of Business and Enterprise majoring in business analytics and big data.

Timmy Harding was thrilled to learn that he has been awarded a three-year scholarship from Summerland Credit Union to support his studies at Southern Cross University.
Timmy is a first-year student studying a Bachelor of Business and Enterprise majoring in business analytics and big data.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been a challenge for many Australians and this was a great news story for Timmy, who recently completed a diploma with distinction while working full time.
“I’m humbled by this vital assistance that will help to cover the financial burden of my studies. The scholarship will be a big help in assisting to pay for textbooks and meeting student fee liabilities”, said Timmy.
Timmy has recently been awarded the Vice Chancellor’s award for academic excellence for achieving a GPA of 6.43 for the first 10 units of study. He attributes this success to hard work, motivation and the assistance of the generous Southern Cross University faculty members and other students.
Kylie Millwood, Area Manager for Summerland Credit Union was thrilled to acknowledge Timmy’s hard work and passion to help support his local community.
“Timmy has been working for the Gold Coast Council for the past 12 years and is committed to delivering local amenity improvement programs such as crime prevention through urban design, park natural shade initiatives and large-scale urban tree planting programs to improve the lives of his local community” she said.

As a founding partner of the University’s Rising Stars Scholarship, Summerland has been helping local students with their studies since 1994.
