Sustainability Month Competition

This Sustainability Month, as part of our commitment to our communities, we are donating $1,000 to be shared amongst three worthy causes that are making a difference to the environment within the Northern Rivers; Bangalow Koalas, Australian Seabird Rescue and Clarence Landcare.

The competition will run on our Facebook page, encouraging those with a Facebook account to ‘LIKE’ one of the three causes by the closing date at 10pm on Monday 30th September. First, second and third prizes will be given to each group depending on the number of likes they receive:

First prize: $500

Second prize: $300

Third prize: $200

To help you decide who to vote for, each cause have summarised how they will make use of the donated funds:

Bangalow Koalas

We are raising funds to purchase koala food and habitat trees for our Koala Wildlife Corridor, by linking Byron Bay and surrounding areas out towards Repentance Creek. Any funds raised will go to our Tree Account which we hope will keep growing to support our long-term goal.

Australian Seabird Rescue

The money raised will go directly toward rehabilitating sick and injured seabirds, sea turtles, shorebirds and sea snakes. This would include animal food and medication. With your help we can ensure the survival of our local wildlife.

Clarence Landcare

We will facilitate a planting and regeneration project of coastal habitat with one of our volunteer Landcare groups between Iluka and Wooli. Every week our hard working volunteers plan, organise, weed, plant vegetation and assist with safe beach access tracks for locals and tourists to help conserve the coastal environment.

You can vote for your favourite by visiting our Facebook page and liking the respective group
