On a Roll After a Break!

Woodburn Evans Head Golf Club is slowly recovering after the floods completely devastated the course and club house, along with directly affecting many of its local members.

We caught up with Sharen and Sue, Captain and President of the Women’s Club this week and they expressed how members were without a sense of community after the floods and since coming back to the green they’ve recognised just how much being on the green helps their mental health.

Sadly, flood waters reached the second story of the club house which is now being slowly restored with some remarkable volunteers lending a helping hand to speed up the process.

Thankfully, they have received generous donations to assist with replacing lost furniture and appliances.

With still a lot to be done to get the club back to full capacity, it was fantastic to see the beautiful tree lined fairways filled with local smiling golfers once again.

The flood grant was made available through The Australian Mutuals Foundation, The Business Council of Co-operatives, G&C Mutual Bank and Summerland Credit Union.
