Phone and email Scams Impersonating Summerland Credit Union

High alert: Be wary of scammers calling or emailing and impersonating Summerland Credit Union.

We’ve received reports of a telephone or email scam where scammers are posing as Summerland staff and displaying our phone number, or an email that  appears to be sent from Summerland. The scammer may say that your card or internet banking has been hacked and request your account details including SMS one-time codes; or an email may ask you to click on a link to change your internet banking password. They may advise that they need your details to secure your account or ask you transfer funds to another account they have set up in your name.

Please remember that Summerland will never ask you to disclose your account number, one-time code or personal banking details in an unsolicited phone call, email, or SMS. We also won’t ask you to transfer funds to a new account or to another bank.

If you receive a suspicious call or email from anyone claiming to be from Summerland Credit Union, do not provide any personal information. ALWAYS check the authenticity of any unsolicited call, email, or message.  You can confirm if the communication is genuine by calling Summerland Credit Union directly on 1300 802 222 or emailing [email protected]
