Sample Food Festival. A Taste Of The Northern Rivers!
The rain did not stop the celebration of Sample Food Festival’s 10th Anniversary. After two years of postponements due to COVID, Bangalow Showground was full of smiling faces enjoying a taste of the Northern Rivers.
Local growers, producers and chefs highlighted the flavours of the region while the judges had a tough decision searching for the best dishes of the day.
The cooking stage showcased Samantha Gowing, Julia Busuttil Nishimura, Magdalena Roze, Jason Saxby (Raes), Alastair Waddell (Frida’s Field), Nick Pearce, Winding Road Distilling Co. and Shannon Martinez. A big congratulations to the following Golden Fork Winners for their outstanding cooking using local produce:
- No Bones Byron Bay for taking out the best savoury taste plate for their No Lamb Gyros.
- Natural Ice Cream Australia who won best sweet taste plate for their Wattle Seed, Roasted Macadamia Banana Icecream with Banana Miso Butterscotch.
We look forward to partnering with Sample Food Festival again to taste more incredible local produce next year on 2 September 2023.
