Steep Hills And Thrills at the Bangalow Billycart Derby 2022!
The Billycart Derby was back in full speed on 18 September, after 2 years of postponements due to COVID. Competitors of all ages braved the hill and raced down the main street of Bangalow.
Bangalow Billycart Darby once again, was a great success. An event like this not only brings the community together, but it brings out our inner child! There was fun to be had for all ages, even the eldest competitor at 88 years young, ‘Bangalow Bill’.
The event first started in 1995 as a celebration of the main road bypass – it’s since grown into a community event that really puts Bangalow on the map for all the right reasons. Like previous years, Bangalow Billycart Derby combined the event with the Bangalow Public Schools Annual Fair (Pit Stop) which saw the community enjoying rides, activities, games and the famous cake stall.
