On Sunday May 19th, the main street in Bangalow will turn into a carnival of colour and fun for families as we welcome the famous Billycart Derby back for another year.
As an iconic community event, the Bangalow Billycart Derby started in 1994, and has since invited people to the town to witness an array of billycarts driven by adults to children alike looking to chance their luck at racing down the hill of the main street in Bangalow. Nevertheless, the focus for the day isn’t speed, but participation and having fun in this inclusive community event.
As the naming rights sponsor of the 19th Billycart Derby, for the first time in the event’s history, we are delighted to introduce a map of the event prior to the day. This will give you all the information you need, so you can make the most of your day. It will also have a treasure hunt for the kids (and adults) with the reward of a prize you can claim at our Bangalow branch the following week! Whether you want to catch the racing, check out the fair at the Bangalow Public School or see which cafes and shops are open on the day, picking up a copy of The Summerland Credit Union Bangalow Billycart Derby map will be a collectors’ item for those that cherish this iconic community event.
Visit the Summerland Credit Union branch in Bangalow before the day to pick up your map, otherwise talk to a Lions Club or Summerland representative on the day about how you can get your hands on one.

Otherwise arrive at 7am on Sunday 19th May for registration at the Bangalow Hotel, with racing beginning at 9am.
