Before Christmas, Summerland Credit Union partnered with The Salvation Army’s Bushfire Disaster Appeal to raise money for those affected by the bushfires. We are proud to announce that over $10,000 was raised during the course of the campaign.
The money donated will enable The Salvos to help with the ongoing recovery effort and the rebuilding phase of those communities that were affected.
“I would like to take this opportunity to give a whole-hearted thank you to our customers for their remarkable support of those affected by the bushfires. It is incredibly touching that so many of our customers gave generously, given the size of our customer base compared to the larger financial institutions and banks,” said Summerland CEO, John Williams.
“It has been a difficult time for some of our customers, so we hope through this campaign and the bushfire relief package we have available, brings some small comfort to them,” added Mr Williams.
We are continuing to think of all our customers and communities that have been affected. Further information about a bushfire preparation and a survival plan can be found here.
