Recently, Summerland Credit Union were recognised by the Tweed Shire Council for our sustainability achievements in business – receiving the inaugural business trophy at the Tweed Sustainability Awards.
The Tweed Sustainability Awards are an opportunity to celebrate those individuals, not-for-profit organisations and businesses in the community who are promoting the sustainability of the Tweed Shire. Within this, sustainability means balancing environmental, economic and social effects to maintain a natural balance.
CEO, John Williams was pleased to see Summerland recognised for our commitment to sustainability.
“Thank you to the Tweed Shire Council for selecting Summerland – we are proud to be leading change in the region.
“This award illustrates our staff’s commitment to one of our key values, sustainability, and how we continue to offer an ethical banking alternative, separate from the major banks,” said Mr Williams.
The award follows Summerland being recognised with the Gold Partner Accreditation, earlier this year, in the NSW Government’s Sustainability Advantage Program; becoming the first financial institution in New South Wales to achieve this feat.
