We know that resilience isn’t just about bouncing back, it’s about being prepared and connected before the next challenge comes along. That’s why we want to share a fantastic opportunity with local businesses and community organisations in the Northern Rivers: the Business Beyond Disasters program.
Launched by the NSW Reconstruction Authority in partnership with Resilient Ready, this free 10-week online program is designed to help businesses and not-for-profits build resilience and better prepare for future disruptions, whether it’s natural disasters, economic shocks, or unexpected operational hurdles.
What’s Involved?
Starting from 5 May 2025, participants will have access to:
- Bite-sized weekly e-learning modules (only 5 minutes each!)
- Real-life case studies and downloadable worksheets
- Weekly online check-ins with other local business owners and experts
- A personalised business resilience toolkit tailored to your industry
Topics include financial planning, evacuation readiness, insurance, crisis communication and turning disruption into opportunity, just to name a few.
The program is tailored to suit the needs of a wide range of sectors, including:
- Retail, professional services and education
- Agribusiness and aquabusiness
- Tourism
- Health care and community services
- Construction, trades and manufacturing
Whether you’re running a small local store, managing a community group, or operating a growing business, there’s something in this program for you.
We encourage all of our customers and community members – especially those in the Northern Rivers region, to check out the program and consider registering. Even just a few minutes a week could make a big difference in protecting what you’ve built. By participating in Business Beyond Disasters, our local business community has a chance to learn, plan, and grow stronger together.
