Part of the local community
Back in 1964, the people of the Northern Rivers community were looking for a more flexible, approachable, and responsible banking alternative. Six decades later and Summerland Bank is still delivering more of what the locals want, with community at the heart of all that we do.
Love Lennox Festival
We were excited to be part of the Love Lennox Festival on Saturday, 14 June 2025.
It was a fantastic opportunity to soak in the energy of the festival, with the main street coming alive with unique street stalls, talented musicians, and local artists.
Helped raise funds for Waratah
Waratah is a local Koala who loves to cuddle and eat eucalyptus leaves. She was rescued from a bush fire and needs help to recover and find a new place to live.
We’ll share how we will be raising funds for Waratah’s recovery soon.
Wardell Community Village
The Wardell Community Village provides temporary housing for approximately 200 adults and children experiencing homelessness. We’re proud to have provided financial support to plant fruit trees at this site, contributing to a healthier and more sustainable environment for its residents.
Our Rising Stars scholarship
Each year, we offer a Rising Stars scholarship to support a new Bachelor of Business and Enterprise student at Southern Cross University, continuing our long-standing commitment to helping local students succeed since 1994.
Support for Community Gardens
We proudly donate to the Ballina Community Gardens reflecting our dedication to building a greener, more connected community. Together, we can cultivate a sustainable future.
Bangalow Koalas
We are proud to sponsor the Bangalow Koalas over a three-year period to support the Northern Rivers corridor. Our investment focuses on purchasing, planting, and maintaining trees to create a sustainable habitat for koalas.
