Over the past few weeks during May and June, we’ve had the pleasure of supporting a series of incredible local events across the Northern Rivers, each one showcasing the spirit, generosity, and resilience that makes our region so special. At Summerland Bank, community is at the core of everything we do. Here’s a look back at three standout events we proudly supported:
Bangalow Billycart Derby 2025 – A high-speed community favourite
The Bangalow Billycart Derby was back in full swing on the 18 May, full of fun, creativity and community spirit. As proud sponsors, our team was there cheering on the racers, handing out giveaways, and enjoying one of the Northern Rivers’ most loved local events.
St Mary’s mobile laundry project BBQ – Local students driving change
In Casino, we supported St Mary’s Primary School with a fundraising BBQ for their Mobile Laundry Project, a student-led initiative providing free laundry services to locals experiencing hardship.
With sausage sizzles, raffle ticket sales, and big community turnout, it was a powerful reminder of how small efforts can make a big impact. We were proud to be part of this inspiring day alongside our Casino branch team.
Casino Beef Week 2025 – Celebrating rural pride
We wrapped up our community run at the iconic Casino Beef Week, a major celebration of regional life and rural culture. From street parades and agricultural displays to live music and local eats, this event truly brings our community together.
As sponsors of the Family Fun Zone, we helped deliver games, giveaways, and good vibes for local families. We also had the honour of judging the Window Dressing Competition, featuring vibrant displays from local businesses across Casino.
Why community matters to Summerland Bank
As a customer-owned bank and certified B Corp, we believe in showing up for the people and places that matter most. Whether it’s supporting grassroots events, helping launch local initiatives, or celebrating our rural roots, we’re committed to giving back.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us, volunteered, or stopped by to say hello. We’re proud to stand with the communities we serve, and we look forward to the next opportunity to connect.
