Your guide to managing app notifications.

Staying on top of your finances is easier when you have timely, accurate information at your fingertips. The Summerland Bank mobile app offers a range of smart notification tools and security features to help you stay informed, alert, and in control, wherever you are. 

Here’s how to make the most of it. 

1. Standard vs custom alerts 
Standard alerts apply automatically across your accounts to keep you updated on everyday activity. 
Custom alerts let you tailor notifications based on specific accounts or cards, so you only receive what’s most relevant to you. 

2. Manage how and where you’re notified 
In Notification Settings, you can choose: 

  • How you’re notified – via push notifications, SMS or email 
  • When alerts are sent, in real time or as daily summaries 
  • Where they’re delivered, easily update your contact details 

3. View notifications at a glance 
Tap the bell icon or go to View Notifications to see recent alerts and stay across your account activity. 

4. Customise your alerts 
Under Notification Configuration, you can choose which types of alerts you receive, including: 

Transactions: 

  • Internal, external, and international transfers 
  • BPAY, cheques, and batch payments 

Account updates: 

  • Security and setting changes 
  • eStatement notifications 
  • Joint account activity 

5. Let us know if you’re travelling 
Using the Travel Notifications feature helps prevent unnecessary card declines overseas and allows us to contact you quickly if we detect anything unusual. 

6. Check your SMS history 
View a log of all text messages sent to your device, including one-time passwords and security codes, great for reviewing login attempts or resolving issues. 

New feature: Security questions for password resets 
You can now set up security questions in the app to help reset your password more securely. 

  • Select 3 to 10 questions from a list of 20 
  • Answer them to receive a temporary password by SMS 
  • This feature supports our upcoming Digital First Internet Banking platform

Notifications and security tools in your app are there to keep you informed and protected. By setting up your preferences, you can enjoy a safer, more streamlined banking experience.
