Know your credit position: reports, scores and CCR explained.
What is a Credit Report and Credit Score?
Your credit report, maintained by credit reporting bodies, documents your credit history including personal information, credit applications, loan details, defaults, and payment history.
A credit score is a numerical rating (typically 0-1200 or 0-1000) calculated from your report. The higher the number, the more credit-worthy you’re considered. Your score reflects your repayment history, credit applications, any adverse events, the length of your credit history, and your credit limits and outstanding balances.

Comprehensive Credit Reporting (CCR)
From August 2026, Australia’s credit reporting system that Summerland Bank customers are part of includes both positive and negative information. Rather than your report only showing when something’s gone wrong, such as a missed payment or default, it also reflects your good repayment history. This is known as Comprehensive Credit Reporting (CCR), and it gives lenders a more accurate overall picture of how you manage credit.
