Part of the local community

Back in 1964, the people of the Northern Rivers community were looking for a more flexible, approachable, and responsible banking alternative. Six decades later and Summerland Bank is still delivering more of what the locals want, with community at the heart of all that we do.

Magnus - Friends of the Koala, adopted by Summerland Bank Evans Head branch

Adopted Magnus the Koala

Our team have adopted Magnus in 2026. Magnus is a local koala with Friends of the Koala. Magnus was rescued as an abandoned Joey in October 2021. When Magnus was big enough for release, it took him longer than most to understand that he needed to find his own food in the plantation.

Woodburn Orchid Society

We love supporting the Woodburn Orchid Show because orchids are not only stunning flowers, but also important indicators of environmental health. They can help us monitor the effects of climate change, pollution, and habitat loss on our planet.

Bangalow Koalas

We are proud to sponsor the Bangalow Koalas over a three-year period to support the Northern Rivers corridor. Our investment focuses on purchasing, planting, and maintaining trees to create a sustainable habitat for koalas.

Our Rising Stars scholarship

Each year, we offer a Rising Stars scholarship to support a new Bachelor of Business and Enterprise student at Southern Cross University, continuing our long-standing commitment to helping local students succeed since 1994.
